
Four books, two each in Urdu and Sanskrit, were published here Wednesday focused at providing a basic knowledge of sports among students, Olympians and educators. The books were published during the ‘Chalo Khel Ki Dhara’ workshop held in Hindi Bhawan, in the heart of the city.
The program had the participation of more than 50 representatives from four provinces and was organized by the NGO “Sports: A Way of life.“

Books like ‘Khel Kayda’, ‘Krida Paricharika’, ‘Khel Safa’ and ‘Krida Ek Jeevan Padati’ written by Dr. Kanishka Pandey. Olympian Ashok Kumar, son of hockey legend Dian Chand, was among other notable figures who launched the books.
“This kind of sports awareness will lead our future generations towards better sports activities. Our country ranked 48th at the Tokyo Olympics, while China ranked second.”

These books will help promote sports activities in children from the beginning of their education, ”said Kumar, who is a key member of the 1975 World Cup-winning Indian hockey team.
