“The Ministry of Education has reported the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on 29 July 2020 after getting the endorsement of Cabinet. The NEP imagines setting up of a Higher Education Commission of India as an umbrella body with four free verticals to perform unmistakable elements of guideline, accreditation, subsidizing, and scholarly standard-setting,” he said in a composed reaction to an inquiry.

“In like manner, the Ministry is currently drafting a Bill for the foundation of the Higher Education Commission of India,” Pradhan added.
The Higher Education Commission of India conceives supplanting independent bodies like the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The National Education Policy 2020 suggested setting up the HECI as a solitary general umbrella body for advanced education, barring clinical and legitimate instruction.
