
Education Minister Of India, Ramesh Pokhrial has taken an important decision regarding the 2021 CBSE Class 12 Board Exams as it approved the 2019-20 Performance Ranking Index (PGI) for States and Union Territories.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s government has presented PGI with 70 criteria to bring about a complete change in the educational system prevailing in schools in India.
The Union States and Territories IGP was first published in 2019 compared to 2017-18.
PGI System: Permission from the Minister of Education
According to a statement from the Union’s Department of Education, “PGI practice anticipates that the index will encourage states and the University of Texas to undertake interventions on several fronts that will lead to the optimal educational outcomes thus sought.”
“PGI helps states/UTs to identify gaps, and thus prioritize areas for intervention to ensure that the school system is robust at all levels,” the statement added.

Punjab, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Andaman, Nicobar and Kerala had the highest scores (grade A++) for 2019-20, while Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Puducherry, Punjab and Tamil Nadu improved their overall IGP score by 10 percent.
“All 19 states and UTs showed an improvement of 10 percent (36 points) or more in PGI: Process Governance.”
Meanwhile, the CBSE formed a 12-member panel on Friday to make a final decision on well-defined objective criteria for evaluating billions of Class 12 students.
CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021: Canceled
In particular, the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2021 has been canceled by PM Modi on June 1, 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The committee will consist of the Co-Secretary for Education, Vipin Kumar, Commissioners of Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and representatives of CBSE and UGC. The committee was asked to submit its report within 10 days.
