
The IIT-Delhi Board of Governors today approved the commencement of the “Bachelor of Design (B.Des)” from the 2022-23 session. The program will be offered by the Institute’s Design Department, which appeared in 2017. The four-year program will initially have 20 seats and will be open to students of all disciplines (science, arts, commerce, etc.).
Students will be accepted into the B Design program based on the Common Undergraduate Entrance Exam for Design Ranks. Registration for the UCEED exam has started (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in/2022/).

Professor V Ramgopal Rao, Director of IIT Delhi, said: “We are delighted to start this new Bachelor of Design program as it is the first time that IIT Delhi has accepted Bachelor (B.Des) students other than Physics, Chemistry and Math. We expect students who have graduated with a degree to earn a Bachelor of Design from IIT Delhi who has held leadership positions in industry, academia, government, consulting and entrepreneurship over a period of time. “
