
India’s National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Tech Avant-Garde (TAG), Microsoft’s global training partner, signed an agreement to collaborate to promote digital skills among education stakeholders to facilitate a Connected Learning Community (CLC).

NCERT, Tech Avant-Garde and Microsoft will collaborate to promote digital transformation and Holistic learning (DTHL) in education, in accordance with the Digital India Campaign and National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. The Digital India Campaign (2015) foresees the creation of a basic IT / ICT infrastructure, which provides services to citizens through portals, applications, etc., and digital literacy for all citizens within a specified period.

TAG will provide Microsoft course content in a format shared by NCERT under the CC-by-NC-SA license. The course certificate will be jointly offered by NCERT and Microsoft / TAG in accordance with the NCERT format. The L’avenir / Microsoft Learn URL should be added as part of the course instructions for further learning. TAG, in collaboration with CIET-NCERT, will conduct customized courses for NCERT components such as the National Institute of Education (NIE), the Central Institute of Education Technology of New Delhi (CIET), New Delhi; Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Central Professional Education Institute (PSSCIVE), Bhopal; Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Ajmer; Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhopal; Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar; Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore; and the Northeast Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Shillong, to name a few.
A spokesperson for NCERT says: “At NCERT, we have partnered with Tech Avant-Garde, a global training partner for Microsoft, to promote digital transformation and learning as envisioned by the National Education Policy (2020) for use and integration of e-learning / ICT / digital learning in teaching, and learning, assessment, development of electronic content, DIVYANG digital resources, continuous development of teaching capacities, educational management and governance, etc.

It also emphasizes the investigation of disruptive technologies and pioneering technologies that facilitate educational processes long before they spread throughout the system. NCERT will select appropriate CPD-related courses online from the pool of courses TAG shares from time to time that will be helpful for educators to improve their digital skills. “
